October 30, 2025 — This November, we invite families to explore endless possibilities of learning, creativity, and imagination. As fall arrives, the museum offers an exciting lineup of new and returning performances, a new exhibit component and engaging activities for visitors of all ages.
We will be celebrating sustainability in honor of America Recycles Day by hosting Con Edison Cares for the Earth Weekend on Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Included is a live performance by Bash the Trash – a high-energy music group that transforms recycled materials into incredible instruments – taking place both on Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm. In addition, kids can unleash their creativity through eco-art activities led by museum educators, exploring sustainability concepts while crafting with recycled materials.
New Exhibit Component
Check out “Picky Eaters” in our Bugs and Other Arthropods exhibit where kids can step into the fascinating world of insects and their arthropod relatives! Learn how their unique mouth parts determine their diets and investigate what is on the menu.
During the School Breaks, Tuesday, November 4, Tuesday, November 11 and Friday, November 28 our One Day Fun Camp will offer participants ages 5-9 a day out-of-school filled with science experiments, art making, outdoor exploring, and exhibit play. Art Activity in our Walk-in! Workshop:
Young artists will create Skyscraper Skylines. Wed-Fri 1:00 – 4:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
ShopRite Kidz Cook Activity: Autumn Salad with fresh fruits, butternut squash, and mixed greens. On Sunday, November 2 and Saturday, November 22 join our care-giver and me cooking class where children will be introduced to different kinds of foods and hone their dexterity as they work with cooking utensils. Sessions will be held at 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Space is limited – get your tickets at the door. Ideal for ages 4 and up.
Puppet Show Activity
Teatro SEA Brings Puerto Rican and Latin American Folklore to Life with The Journey of Pura Belpré’s Tales. Audiences are invited to embark on this enchanting cultural adventure on Saturday, November 8, from 3:50 pm to 4:45 pm. This interactive puppet show follows beloved characters from Puerto Rican and Latin American folklore, including Pérez & Martina, Juan Bobo, and The Three Magi. Through vibrant puppetry and captivating storytelling, families will be immersed in the timeless tales first shared by legendary storyteller Pura Belpré.
Movement Activity
Families are invited to join Never Stop Moving 365 for an exciting outdoor event: Olympic Games, on Sunday, November 9, from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm. Designed for ages 6 and up, kids will play interactive games focused on teamwork and fun. Space is limited, get your tickets at the door the day of the event.
STEM Activity
Step into a world of jaw-dropping experiments on Tuesday, November 11, from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm with Crazy Science: Liquid Nitrogen. This thrilling live demonstration introduces audiences to the astonishing properties of liquid nitrogen — a substance so cold it can freeze objects in seconds, with a boiling point of -195°C (-320°F). Guests will see everyday objects like roses, balloons, and popcorn dramatically transformed before their eyes, perfect for curious minds of all ages
Literacy Activity
Spark imagination at Kids Interactive Poetry with Thomas Fucaloro on Sunday, November 30, from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm. This stimulating program introduces children to the magic of poetry through hands-on learning stations that encourage imagination, self-expression, and play. Kids will dive into rhyming, building, sharing, and singing activities — making poetry come alive in fun and unexpected ways.
About the Staten Island Children’s Museum
The Staten Island Children’s Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Additionally in November, the museum will be open on Tuesday, November 4 (Election Day) and Tuesday November 11 (Veteran’s Day) and closed on Tuesday, November 27 for Thanksgiving.
