November 24, 2025 — Get ready for a December packed with discovery and delight at the Staten Island Children’s Museum (SICM)! Experience an inspiring mix of performances, creative workshops and an activity filled School Break Holiday Fun Camp. Close out the month with our Annual New Year’s Eve Dance Party & Countdown.
During the School Break, Friday, December 26 – Friday, January 2 (weekend & New Year’s Day excluded), Our Holiday Fun Camp will offer participants ages 5-9 an out-of-school recess filled with science experiments, art making, outdoor exploring, and exhibit play. Art
Throughout the month, young artists will create Prints and Patterns with stamps of circles, squares and triangles in our Walk-In! Workshop. Wed-Fri 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
Food – Making
ShopRite Kidz Cook: On Saturday, December 6, join our care-giver and me cooking class where children will combine ingredients, then use festive sprinkles to create No-Bake Holiday Cookes. Then on Sunday, December 21, join us for a second Kidz Cook, where young chefs will create a delicious Apple Pie in a Cup using seasonal flavors, a perfect treat for holiday gatherings. Kids will be introduced to different kinds of foods and hone their dexterity as they work with cooking utensils. Sessions will be held at 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Space is limited – get your tickets at the door. Ideal for ages 4 and up.
Movement
Zumba Kids classes bring high-energy fun with kid-friendly routines inspired by original Zumba choreography. An instructor will break down the steps, add games, and create an engaging, active experience. Sunday, December 7, from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm.
Magic Show
Families are invited to join Silly Billy for a hilarious magical event on Sunday, December 21, from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm. Designed for ages 3-9, kids will laugh as Silly Billy performs magical feats with kid friendly comedy.
Train Show
Starting on Saturday, December 27 – Monday, December 29. Explore the world of miniature trains with the Staten Island Railway Club. This three-day exhibit explores model trains and the craft behind them, offering an engaging experience for families.
Music
Step into a world of holiday magic on Sunday, December 28, from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm with The Grace Foundation’s GRACE-ful Glee Club, a performing arts ensemble of individuals impacted by autism spectrum disorder. They have created a musical comedy called “A GRACE-ful Winter’s Tale,” which tells the story of a duo of royal siblings from the Enchanted Village of Brielle, through storytelling, acting, singing and dancing.
Live Animals
Kids will journey through time with Binx the Reptile Guy on Tuesday, December 30, from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm. Join Binx and a live cast of reptiles while exploring how the creatures evolved from their pre-historic ancestors and what their life is like today.
Party!
Ring in the New Year with us at our annual New Year’s Eve Dance Party and Countdown. We will offer two opportunities to celebrate with a countdown party at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm, including a balloon drop and a performance by The Rock-A-Silly Band. Party and countdown tickets must be reserved on-line. No tickets will be available at the door.
About the Staten Island Children’s Museum
The Staten Island Children’s Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Additionally in December, we will be open on Monday, December 29 and Tuesday, December 30 and closed the morning of Saturday, December 13, and all day on Thursday, December 25 for Christmas. We will close at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 31. Tickets are available at https://sichildrensmuseum.org/tickets. All programs are included with admission unless stated.
