STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — August 27, 2026 — Families are invited to become Emergency Super Heroes on Saturday, Sept. 19, during the NYC Family Emergency Preparedness Fair at the Museum, presented in partnership with NYC Emergency Management. The special event will include free Museum admission for all with advance registration from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the Emergency Preparedness Fair taking place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The interactive event will help families learn how to prepare for rare but potentially devastating emergencies through engaging activities, helpful resources and hands-on learning. Children can meet special guest Ready Girl, who will lead a preparedness activity, and enjoy a bounce house, balloon artist, face painting, superhero cape coloring and other family-friendly activities. Families can also meet representatives from community resource organizations, explore the Museum’s exhibits and participate in crafts throughout the day.
