May 29, 2026 — During the month of June, we will offer a special admissions programs, including a Free Day in honor of Juneteenth on Saturday, June 20, a performance by Divinity Roxx, a Grammy-nominated performer, and two school break day camps and our annual end of school year bounce house.
Free Admission Programs We are participants in the Bank of America Museums on Us Program. On Saturday, June 6 and Sunday June 7, 2026, Bank of America cardholders receive one free general admission by presenting a valid debit or credit card and a government issued photo ID. In celebration of Juneteenth, the we will offer free admission to all with on-line pre-registration on Saturday, June 20 sponsored by Amazon. We also offer free admission to individuals with Cool Culture and SNAP EBT cards as well as active-duty military families.
Everyday there is something to create in the Walk-In! Workshop. Throughout June, kids will make Sunscapes, Participants will use chalk pastels to explore all the colors of the sun to create their own unique solar images. Wed-Fri 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
On Thursday, June 4 and Friday, June 5, when NYC Public Schools are out, we will offer a School Break Day Camp, for ages 5-9, from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm filled with science experiments, art-making to outdoor exploration and exhibit play! Get ready for an exciting, hands-on experience that feels like magic – but is rooted in real science. On Saturday, June 6 it’s Crazy Science: Dry Ice Discovery from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm. Led by engaging “Crazy Scientists,” this interactive program features a series of experiments designed to spark curiosity and excitement about science. Attendees will witness scientific demonstrations centered around dry ice – a solid that does not melt into a liquid but instead changes directly into a gas!
We invite the community to a vibrant, free outdoor performance presented by the Calpulli Mexican Dance Company on Sunday, June 7 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. This special event will have over 150 student performers who will showcase their training in traditional Mexican music and dance through an afternoon of performances celebrating culture, creativity, and community.
ShopRite Kidz Cook invites caregivers and children to discover the joy of cooking together on Saturday, June 13 where participants will prepare Sliders and Slaw. Sessions are held at 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Space is limited and tickets are available at the door. Age range: 4 and up.
On Saturday, June 20 at the Staten Island Community Alliance 6th Annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival, We are proud to sponsor the performance by Divi Roxx Kids, created by Grammy-nominated musician Divinity Roxx whose high-energy hip-hop, funk, and rock-inspired music is designed to inspire confidence, creativity, and self-expression in children. Among many illustrious accomplishments, Roxx toured and performed with Beyonce as her bassist and musical director. The performance will be in the late afternoon at the Tuscan Garden of Snug Harbor. On Saturday, June 27 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm our annual end of school year Bounce House returns for a day where kids are invited to jump, climb and slide their way through an inflatable castle.
Get moving at our monthly program, Museum Movers & Shakers on Saturday, June 28 through a variety of interactive workshops starting at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm. Designed for children of all ages, participants will explore movement activities from dance games to beginner-friendly yoga.
The final workshop is a special Music Video Mania! session from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, where participants will learn choreography inspired by trending dances and then take what they learned to the stage. This workshop introduces the basics of video production, including lighting and sound design, camera angles, and creative direction, offering a hands-on look at performance and media creation.
The Staten Island Children’s Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The museum will be closed on Friday, June 19 in honor of Juneteenth.
