February 27, 2026 — This March, the Children’s Museum comes alive with an exciting and diverse lineup of programs designed to inspire, educate, and entertain visitors of all ages. Our guests will experience dynamic live dance performances that celebrate movement, culture, and creativity. Curious minds can discover the fast-paced sport of fencing through a hands-on introduction with kid-friendly equipment. Young readers and families can gather for an engaging literacy experience that brings stories to life and fosters a love of reading. And for those ready to travel back in time, a thrilling live reptile program will explore the fascinating connection between ancient creatures and their modern-day descendants.
Free Admission Programs We are participants in the Bank of America Museums on Us Program. On the first full weekend of each month in 2026, Bank of America cardholders receive one free general admission by presenting a valid debit or credit card and a government issued photo ID. We also offer free admission to individuals with Cool Culture and SNAP EBT cards as well as active-duty military families.
Everyday there is something to create in the Walk-In! Workshop. Throughout March, kids will explore movement and sculpture in this month’s hands-on workshop, Kinetic Sculptures. Participants will create “mobiles” or “stabiles” based on the work of American artist Alexander Calder, using pipe cleaners, bold colors, and out-of-the-box thinking. Wed-Fri 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
Participants will experience the artistry of Irish Step Dancing with Dawn Daniels on Sunday, March 1 from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm. During this interactive workshop, Dawn will perform a rhythmic hard-shoe reel and a graceful soft-shoe jig, among other steps, showcasing the skill and tradition behind this celebrated dance form. Visitors will explore the history of Irish step dancing, musical instruments, and take part in an interactive lesson set to Irish music.
Step into the world of fencing with a hands-on demonstration led by the Richmond County Fencing Club, formerly known as the Staten Island Fencing Club on Saturday, March 7 from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm. Designed especially for children ages 6 and up, this program introduces the fencing principals of balance, coordination, and focus. Children will have the opportunity to practice basic lunge and parry techniques using plastic swords in a safe, supervised environment.
An installment of our monthly Movers and Shakers series will be held on Saturday, March 14 with four opportunities to engage young participants in creative movement activities.
11:00 am to 11:45 am – Walkers’ Wiggle is recommended for ages 1 to 3. This session consists of yoga and dance moves to help develop gross motor skills and strengthen recognition of shapes, counting, and self-expression.
12:00 pm – 12:45 pm & 2:15 pm – 3:00 pm – Yoga Adventure! is recommended for Pre-K and Kindergarten ages 4 and up with a focus on breathing and body awareness.
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm – Grades 1 and up: Music Video Mania is recommended for ages 6+, participants will learn choreography from current dance trends, then try it on-stage with a focus on video production.
ShopRite Kidz Cook invites caregivers and children to discover the joy of cooking together on Sunday, March 15 where participants will prepare Mediterranean Rice & Beans. Sessions are held at 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Space is limited and tickets are available at the door. Age range: 4 and up.
Day off for Eid al-Fitr, we will offer a One Day Camp on Friday, March 20. Join us for a day filled with hands-on science experiments, creative art projects, outdoor exploration and exhibit play. Programs are designed for children ages 5–9.
Daily camp rates are $85 per child, or $70 for museum members, with the member discount applied at checkout. Families can also extend their camper’s day from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm for an additional $15.

Families are invited to this interactive story time hosted by Literacy, Inc. (LINC) on Friday, March 20 from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm. Through expressive read-alouds and lively participation, LINC brings children’s stories to life, inspiring reading and imagination in young audiences. This program is designed for children of all ages.
Journey through time with Binx the Reptile Guy – Dino Scales & Tails on Sunday, March 22 from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm where ancient reptiles meet their modern-day relatives. This program features a live cast of reptiles – including tortoises, bearded dragons, leopard geckos, and pythons. Through storytelling and hands-on animal encounters, Binx introduces young audiences to the world of reptiles.
Get moving at a dance party led by DJ Got Me Fit on Sunday, March 29 from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm. This program combines fitness, music, and movement through games and dance routines inspired by today’s popular hits.
