March 27, 2026 — During the month of April,we will offer special admissions programs as well as a week full of performers for NYC Public Schools Spring Recess. From magic, to dance, to a game show, we will be filled with unique activities, including a young artisan/entrepreneur fair to showcase their creations and products for purchase.
Free Admission Programs We are participants in the Bank of America Museums on Us Program. On Saturday, April 4, 2026, Bank of America cardholders receive one free general admission by presenting a valid debit or credit card and a government issued photo ID. We also offer free admission to individuals with Cool Culture and SNAP EBT cards as well as active-duty military families.
On Saturday, April 25, Northwell Health is sponsoring a Free Admission Day. Online registration is required. Members may present a valid photo ID at the door for free admission. Tickets available here: https://sichildrensmuseum.org/tickets/.
Everyday there is something to create in the Walk-In! Workshop. Throughout April, kids will make Woven Landscapes, inspired by environmental installations of Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Participants will cover iconic Staten Island landscapes and landmarks in the colored yard of their choosing. Wed-Fri 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. For Spring Recess Thursday, April 2 – Friday, April 10 times are subject to change, please check the whiteboard upon arrival.
Spring Recess Camp, we will host a school break camp Thursday, April 2 – Friday, April 10 (excluding the weekend). Activities will include hands-on science experiments, creative art projects, outdoor exploration, and exhibit play. Programs are designed for children ages 5–9.
Daily camp rates are $85 per child, or $70 for museum members. Extended care is also available before and after camp hours.

On Monday, April 6 participants are invited to Never Stop Moving 365: Field Day. This program encourages children to stay active through games and challenges that promote movement, creativity, and teamwork. Designed for kids ages 6 and up, it will help build coordination, confidence, and collaboration in a fun, energetic environment. Sessions will take place from 3:00 pm – 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm. Space is limited, and participants can reserve a spot at the front desk on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tuesday, April 7 it’s Music with Mr. Patrick from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm. Attend a lively performance with Mr. Patrick, his guitar, and his puppet friends. This interactive show features a playful mix of songs about frogs, unicorns, dinosaurs, and even sharks, encouraging a love of music for children and caregivers alike.
Be mystified in an interactive comedy magic show with Silly Billy on Wednesday, April 8 from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm. Known for blending magical illusions with comedy, Silly Billy will perform playful tricks then get the crowd to participate in the magic.
Families are invited to join the excitement of The Mainstages Game Show: All For Won on Thursday, April 9 from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm. This high-energy experience brings audiences together for a collaborative game show where teamwork is the key to success.
Explore the traditions of Eastern Europe with a performance by Ensemble Barynya on Friday, April 10 from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm. Experience a cultural journey through music and dance. Each dance tells a unique story, showcasing different Eastern European cultures through colorful costumes and energetic choreography. Audiences will hear traditional instruments such as the domra, guitar, and accordion, bringing music to life in a dynamic way.
ShopRite Kidz Cook invites caregivers and children to discover the joy of cooking together on Saturday, April 11 where participants will prepare Spring Pesto Pasta. Sessions are held at 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Space is limited and tickets are available at the door. Age range: 4 and up.
Loosen up at our monthly program, Museum Movers & Shakers on Sunday, April 12 through a variety of interactive workshops starting at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm. Designed for children of all ages, participants will explore movement experiences, from dance games to beginner-friendly yoga.
The final workshop is a special Music Video Mania! session from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, where participants will learn choreography inspired by trending dances and then take what they learned to the stage. This workshop introduces the basics of video production, including lighting and sound design, camera angles, and creative direction, offering a hands-on look at performance and media creation.
Experience the energy of African rhythm and movement during a performance with the Cumbe Center for African and Diaspora Dance on Sunday, April 19 from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm. Participants will explore traditional African instruments, learn about the cultural stories behind the rhythms, and take part in vibrant dances that celebrate community, creativity, and connection.
We invite families to celebrate National Poetry Month with Kids Interactive Poetry on Saturday, April 25 from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm. This hands-on program encourages children to explore the world of poetry through creativity, play, and self-expression. Participants will rotate through interactive learning stations that spark imagination and invite them to use both their minds and hands. Activities include rhyming, building, sharing, and singing, offering an introduction to poetic expression for kids of all ages.
Explore creativity and entrepreneurship at the Children’s Business Fair on Sunday, April 26 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Hosted in partnership with Faire & Flourish, this event showcases the talents and ingenuity of young artisans and entrepreneurs. Visitors can browse a variety of kid-created products – from handmade jewelry and colorful artwork to delicious baked goods and more. The event is part of Faire & Flourish’s ongoing efforts to build a supportive, family-friendly community that celebrates creativity, innovation, and the small business spirit. The Staten Island Children’s Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
