December 22, 2025 — Ring in 2026 with a month of the extraordinary at the Staten Island Children’s Museum. January is filled with interactive exhibits, creative art workshops, music, magic, a culinary class, and special programs designed for families. The Museum continues to be a place where children and caregivers can play, explore, and discover together on Staten Island.
Admission, Membership, and Discount Updates
Our general admission will increase to $10 beginning January 1. Membership rates will also increase. Beginning in January, we are also expanding year-round access through new discounts and free admission opportunities. Active military families will receive year-round admission discounts. Grandparents receive 50 percent off general admission on weekdays. Visitors are encouraged to visit the Museum’s website for the most up to date information on current ticket prices, membership rates, discounts, free admission days, and free hours.
Bank of America Museums on Us Free Admission
Staten Island Children’s Museum is a returning participant in the Bank of America Museums on Us program. On the first weekend of each month in 2026, Bank of America, Merrill, and Bank of America Private Bank cardholders receive one free general admission by presenting a valid debit or credit card and a government issued photo ID. Bank of America, Merrill, and Bank of America Private Bank employees may also receive free admission with valid proof of employment and photo ID. This program joins our other free admission opportunities at the Museum, including Cool Culture and SNAP EBT access.
Open on Martin Luther King Jr. Day
We will be open on Monday, January 19 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, offering families a full day of exhibits and programming during the school holiday.
January Programs and Events
Art
Visitors can create Little Lucky Charms using beads, clay, gems and markers in the Walk-In! Workshop. Wed-Fri 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
Reading
Guest host Literacy Inc. leads visitors through the magic of storytelling and brings books to life. Saturday, January 10, from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm.
Music
Families are invited to Mozart for Munchkins on Monday, January 19, from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm. Visitors will learn about different instruments and dance to jazz, classical and boogie-woogie music.
Camp
One Day Fun Camp takes place on Monday, January 19, offering children ages 5 to 9 a full day of science experiments, art making, and exhibit play Registration is now open: https://sichildrensmuseum.org/day-camps-for-school-breaks/
Food and Cooking
ShopRite Kidz Cook invites caregivers and children to cook together on Sunday, January 25. Participants will prepare Mediterranean Rice and Beans and explore new foods. Sessions are held at 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Space is limited and tickets are available at the door. Ideal for ages 4 and up.
Magic
Step into a world of wonder with Magical Matt on Saturday, January 31, from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm. Visitors will enjoy close up close card tricks, coin magic and sleight of hand tricks. Perfect for all ages.

The Staten Island Children’s Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. In January, the Museum will also be open on Monday, January 19.
