July 24, 2026 — Explore, experiment, and create together at the Staten Island Children’s Museum with interactive exhibits and hands-on learning experiences designed to spark curiosity and imagination. During the month of August, we will offer families unique learning opportunities with an introduction to composting workshop, the chance to meet a professional beekeeper as well as cooking and art classes.
Free Admission Programs We are participants in the Bank of America Museums on Us Program. On Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, 2026, Bank of America cardholders receive one free general admission by presenting a valid debit or credit card and a government-issued photo ID. We also offer free admission to individuals with Cool Culture and SNAP EBT cards as well as active-duty military families.
Every day there is something to create in the Walk-In! Workshop. Inspired by traditional Guna bright colored mola embroidery, kids will create colorful works of art with crayons and pastels while exploring bold patterns and nature-inspired designs during the month of August. Wed-Sun 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

On Sunday, August 2, join Never Stop Moving 365 from 11:00 am – 11:45 am, where kids will explore a variety of movement stations filled with imaginative games and exciting challenges that build coordination, confidence, and body awareness in their ABC’s of Movement program.
Our popular Boogie Woogie Wednesday series continues every Wednesday from 3:15 pm – 4:00 pm with an exciting lineup of performers to get kids moving. The series ends on September 2.
Wednesday, August 5, it’s Irish Step Dancing with Dawn Daniels. Award-winning Irish step dancer Dawn Daniels brings the excitement of Irish dance to life! Participants will discover the history behind this unique dance style, then join in to learn Irish dance steps.
Experience the sounds of India with Ajna Dance Company on Wednesday, August 12. Enjoy a lively performance by the Ajna Dance Company, then jump in to learn fun Bollywood and Bhangra moves. This interactive dance workshop is perfect for all ages to celebrate Indian culture.
On Wednesday, August 19 with La Troupe Zetwal! Experience lively traditional dances, energetic live drumming, and vibrant outfits as La Troupe Zetwal brings Haitian folklore to life. This performance celebrates Haiti’s rich culture and invites audiences of all ages to experience the joy of music, dance, and storytelling.
Join returning favorite Music with Patrick on August 26. Sing, laugh, and dance along with Mr. Patrick, his guitar, and his puppet pals! This super-silly interactive show is packed with catchy songs about frogs, unicorns, dinosaurs, sharks, and more.
On Thursdays in August from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm, we will offer interactive science experiments about bubbles, dry ice, and aerodynamics! Space is limited; participants are encouraged to reserve their spot at the front desk upon arrival.

We are pleased to welcome back Literacy, Inc. (LINC) on Wednesday, August 5 starting at 2:00 pm for an interactive experience of movement, singing and reading with a focus on empathy, appreciation and a sense of belonging.
ShopRite Kidz Cook invites caregivers and children to discover the joy of cooking together on Saturday, August 8 where participants will learn to make ice-cream. Sessions are held at 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Space is limited and tickets are available at the door. Age range: 4 and up.
Get moving at Museum Movers & Shakers on Sunday, August 16 through a variety of interactive workshops starting at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm. Designed for children of all ages, participants will explore movement activities from dance games to beginner-friendly yoga.
The final workshop is a special Music Video Mania! session from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm, where participants will learn choreography inspired by trending dances and then take what they learned to the stage. This workshop introduces the basics of video production, including lighting and sound design, camera angles, and creative direction, offering a hands-on look at performance and media creation.
On Saturday, August 22, join a professional beekeeper on Bee Day from 4:00 pm – 4:45 pm where children will have the opportunity to explore an educational hive up close, discover authentic beekeeper tools, try on kid-friendly beekeeper gear, and take part in a special “Ask a Beekeeper” Q&A session. Guests will also enjoy a guided honey-tasting featuring delicious samples to try.
Kids will discover how food scraps become nutrient-rich soil, meet the worms that make it all happen, and learn simple ways to help the planet on Sunday, August 23 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm in an interactive Introduction to Composting workshop hosted by Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden.
Kids will rotate through exciting target games and movement challenges that build hand-eye coordination, focus, and accuracy with Never Stop Moving 365: Aiming and Target Games from 11:00 am – 11:45 am on Saturday, August 29. This interactive program is a fun way to practice new skills while staying active and having a great time.
