This interactive program allows caregivers an opportunity to help their children emerge into their own sense of independence. Activities feature a focus on the arts, literacy, and math. Additionally, children will play in hands-on exhibits. They will make art from a wide range of materials including crayons, paint, chalk, and collage. They will also explore basic math principles like numbers, colors, shapes, and patterns. We also practice interactive storytimes and musical plays to engage children’s imaginations. Toddlers get to sing, dance, and march to songs and stories they crafted. This wide array of activities helps children develop social skills. Also, it helps parents build a sense of community through frequent interaction with peers. Parents can pass on strategies, ideas, places, and activities that have helped their young children in the past.
A single introductory class is available to members and non-members for $25. for more information, contact Jami Kilichowski at reservations@sichildrensmuseum.org.
