It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Roland, a cherished benefactor whose philanthropic spirit and unwavering support have played a vital role in shaping the vibrant and enriching experiences offered to children within our community.
Through their selfless contributions over 50 years, Jean and her late husband Albert were instrumental in enabling the Staten Island Children’s Museum’s creation of innovative exhibits, educational programs, and host engaging guest artists that have captivated the imagination of countless children.
We express our deepest condolences to Jean Roland’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. The legacy of Mrs. Roland will forever be etched into the fabric of our museum, serving as a lasting tribute to her commitment to fostering creativity, curiosity, and joy in the hearts of children.
In 2024, we dedicated the plantings in the Garden Terrace exhibit in honor of Jean and Albert Roland. It is a special memorial that reflects the spirit of generosity and passion for delighting children that the Rolands so wholeheartedly embodied. This exhibit will stand as a testament to the enduring impact of their contributions on the countless children and families who continue to benefit from the educational opportunities made possible through their support.
The loss of this extraordinary individual leaves a void that can never be filled, but her enduring legacy will continue to inspire and uplift generations to come.
