September is National Preparedness Month and it serves as a reminder to take action to prepare for the types of emergencies that could affect us where we live, work, learn, and worship. The NYC Office of Emergency Management is hosting a Family Emergency Preparedness Festival at the Staten Island Children’s Museum to promote family and community disaster and emergency planning now and throughout the year.
Admission to the Children’s Museum and Festival is free with online registration from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Join us to learn how to prepare your family, parents, kids, pets, and business to be ready if disaster strikes. Kids can meet emergency responders and check out their vehicles. There will be a number of community organizations with booths and information.
