DESCRIPTION:In the Polynesian cultures of the Pacific Islands\, Leis are a garland (necklace or wreath) of materials created and given to someone to show great respect or affection.  On Saturday\, May 1 and Sunday\, May 2\, in preparation for Mother’s Day\, we’ll be making paper flower Leis in our Walk in! Workshop for Mom. There are Workshops every hour with limited capacity\, please be sure to pick up your tickets at the desk when you arrive.\n\nCost: Free with admission!

SUMMARY:Glam Gardener Planting & Sustainability Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join us at this free outdoor event to learn about plants\, pollinators\, and re-purposing. You will leave with an understanding of natural and non-natural materials\, compost\, and pollinator-attracting plants.  Attendees will take home a upcycled planter made from materials that would otherwise go in the garbage\, filled with a locally sourced milkweed seed that will grow to attract butterflies as they migrate through Staten Island.
